I'm a designer -slash- photographer living in Minneapolis, MN.

Many of these photos are from my adventures in and around the Twin Cities.

I like to make things pretty.

Hanging in the lurch

2006.08.28

As promised, a bit more on the flying gorilla.

A new hotel is opening in downtown Minneapolis in 2 weeks: the Chambers Hotel. This sculpture of a one-armed gorilla ("contemplating its arm", <-- someone else's quote) was installed in the courtyard of the new hotel on Saturday.

Under strict orders not to take photographs of the hotel, a few members of the press (accompanied by curious hipsters and some family from Connecticut that just happened to be walking by) got to see the gorilla lifted, by crane, from a flatbed truck over a 10-foot frosted glass wall and to its new home.

I just couldn't resist the urge to get a sneak-peak of the new place *and* get some gorilla-butt action on my cam. Clearly.
