Finding my footing
23 March 2011

I've gone back and forth on talking publicly about something deeply personal for quite some time, but with encouragement from some of the most supportive, wonderful friends a girl could ask for it seemed like a good time to put a few things out on the table.

The last 18 months has been a crazy journey of becoming pescetarian, then vegetarian, learning how to cook, learning to love scotch, finding out I'm so allergic to alcohol I break out in hives, and then discovering I have Celiac Disease (which is just a fancy term for someone who can't eat gluten).

WHEW! God it feels good to get that out.

So that is the reason why you've seen so many food photos on the site in the past year, because SURPRISE! You've been on this journey of discovery with me and you didn't even know it.

The good news is you won't see a shortage of food photos on here any time soon as I continue to learn & cook & adhere to a vegetarian, gluten free lifestyle (this is the summer I vow to conquer homemade gazpacho & veggie burgers).

The bad news? Wait, I can't think of any bad news. Yes I can. If you're looking for the recipe for Frito Pie then I have already disappointed.

More on everything about everything in time, but for now I'll give you the next 24 hours to deal with that photo of Frito Pie (I'm sorry for that!).
